Landscape Designer // Seattle, WA
I came to landscape design after a long career in aerospace engineering after wanting a career where I could spend more time outside among plants and nature. After growing up on the East Coast, I moved to Seattle in 2006 and fell in love with the Cascade Mountains. My love of plants started in the mountains where I began to photograph and identify each wildflower I could find. I noticed how much better I felt out there and developed a strong connection to nature. Now I strive to bring this sense of belonging and connection in each landscape I design for my clients by finding the elements and plants that make them feel at home and connected.
In 2020, I went back to school and earned a degree in Landscape Design from Edmonds College. From there I developed my skills at Shapiro Ryan Design and Orion Rockscapes while drafting landscape plans before going out on my own to start my own business. I have a passion for Landscape Design and enjoy the mix of artistry and technical details that it entails. I like the challenge of difficult projects and project managing but mostly I love developing relationships with my clients, other horticulturists, and landscape installers. The biggest compliment to me is when a client tells me they are excited to come home to their new yard.
When I’m not in the garden I enjoy hiking and backpacking with my husband, young daughter, and black lab mix, Nali, sailing the Salish Sea, or reading a book with a cup of tea.
